  Pallion Primary School

In 2002, Pallion Primary School identified 42 pupils who were unlikely to meet Government Floor targets. Of these 42 pupils, 14 were in Year 5, 10 in Year 4 and 18 in Year 3.

In the first year of Pupils First, Pallion chose to focus on Emotional Literacy, ICT and literary enrichment for the children. Class support was increased by the appointment of 3 teaching assistants.

The subsequent year has seen the continued development of the Emotional Literacy programme with parents, children and staff, including all non Pupils First pupils. ICT has progressed with the introduction and development of laptops for home and school.

The employment of a Nurture Officer and Grow Your Own support worker has increased support for pupils and parents. Training for parents has included computing and laptops, first aid, helping in school, health and beauty and pamper days.
