Free TREE Resources for Primary Schools in Sunderland
Pupils First, in partnership with Skillspath are encouraging primary schools in Sunderland to take advantage of a range of free resources for an innovative educational programme, aimed at improving personal and social skills, and reinforcing good behaviour in children from as young as five.

TREE (Towards Responsibility in Education and Employment), developed by SkillsPath, is a simple, but effective programme used in school and at home to instil good behaviour in youngsters, and is already being used very successfully in a number of schools across Wearside.

Pupils are encouraged to grow their own virtual tree and are awarded leaves for good behaviour when both at home and at school. These achievements can either be recorded manually or on-line. A range of materials exist to support the implementation of TREE including on-line software, brochures, booklets, comic strips and reward stickers.

Michelle Burlinson, project leader at Pupils First explained: “TREE is easy to set up and simple to use, and was one of the programmes we introduced into our project schools in an effort to raise standards, support personalised learning and address the Government’s Citizenship and Respect agendas. It’s proved hugely successful, which is why we are encouraging other schools to take advantage of this offer to access elements of the programme for free.”

“Even schools that already have their own systems in place may find these free resources useful and should contact Pupils First to find out more,” Michelle continued.
